🎸 Alderbrook Primary School Sessions

This term was all about guitar!

Pupils learned how to hold and play the instrument correctly, using both strumming and picking techniques. Rhythm games helped develop timing and coordination, and more advanced groups began working on songs like Sit Down and the 12 Bar Blues. Some groups even began fretting notes and forming their first chords – amazing progress in just one term!

🎤 St Mary’s Primary School

Both school bands have reached performance level with two full songs each – a fantastic achievement. With some complex parts and musical intricacies to master, the groups rose to the challenge with maturity and enthusiasm. Week-on-week memory recall and musical discipline have been a standout feature this term, and their end-of-term performances showcased just how far they’ve come.

☀️ What’s Next?

After a packed Spring, we’re looking forward to recharging over Easter and coming back full of energy for our most exciting term yet! The countdown begins to our big We Will Rock You summer gig, where all our amazing young musicians will come together to share their songs, celebrate their progress and rock out in front of friends and family.

Stay tuned for more updates – and don’t forget to save the date!
